The RR Size Me sizing and style recommendations have developed with a team of stylists with years of experience with Ruby Ribbon.  The algorithm doesn't follow any one rule of thumb, or chart, or cheat sheet.  The sizes are uniquely calculated for each individual style - the algorithm to make these calculations is nearly 500 lines of code long!  Most styles start with the even band size and then size up once for a cup size of D (+4 inches) and higher and again for a cup size of G (+7 inches) and higher.  For the styles that have both a snug and a relaxed fit (Heritage, Diva, Siren etc) we use the customer's response to the question of how firm of a hug they want to decide which size to show.  For camis and slips we also compare the sizing to the corporate max hip chart.  Different camis have different cup limits and some start sized up, but generally speaking that is how most of the sizing is calculated.  Bottoms are sized according to pants size as we have found that to be the most accurate sizing method for bottoms.  The sizing algorithm is CONSTANTLY evolving.  We err slightly on the side of recommending larger sizes rather than smaller sizes as it is much less damaging to a woman's ego to have to size down rather than size up - however we really aim for accuracy over vanity.  If you have sizing that you feel is wrong please contact us so we can take your experiences under advisement!  A few things to consider including when sending in wrong sizing -

  1. Have you tried on the size recommended and know for a fact that it's too big or too small? This isn't necessary but if you have please include that in your email as it will help us to have better confidence in the sizing you recommend.
  2. Did you select a firm/gentle hug but really would prefer the opposite?  Very frequently the answer to this one question is the difference between the size you want and the size you received.  Consider resubmitting your answers with the opposite answer to that question and see if that fixes your results.
  3. Have you taken the corporate hip size chart into consideration?  Recommending smaller will lead to rolling!
  4. Is the size you prefer the size that you ought to be recommending to someone of a similar size for their FIRST time?  Often times a stylist might know that they prefer a super tight or super loose cami - which is great!  But we want every woman's first experience to be as good as possible!  Most women don't want something extra tight or extra loose, so please consider if what you prefer is also what someone with similar dimensions would most likely consider the right fit for the first time.
  5. Are you expecting your customers with larger breasts to do some serious breast pocket stretching?  RR Size Me's algorithm is geared towards giving women the right fit without needing to do major breast pocket stretching.  We want to give women a cami that they can put on and looks right out of the box - so that it's something they can easily return if it doesn't work out right.  In future updates we may provide the option to customize your personal algorithm a little more to account for stretching, but for now the sizing should give adequate coverage without making the cami un-returnable.

If you still feel like the algorithm is off we really do want to hear your feedback!  The best algorithms are informed by the best data and we can only get that data if you tell us.  So please don't be shy about filling out that contact form!
